Okay. So there are reasons to whine and complain about the “Big A”. Some would say the “A” stands for another choice word due to Amazon’s supposed evil actions in the marketplace. I hear writer folks complaining about Amazon/KDP/Authors Central saying that — “They never answer my questions.” or “They mess up my rankings.” or “They take forever to respond to email inquiries.” I would say to those who whine, time to GET REAL.

Writer Folks – Time to “Man-up” about Amazon. You don’t matter that much.

So you’ve written your novel. You got it published. Now what? Well, now you need readers, right?
Hey Readers! – Add some DANGER to your Kindle for St. Paddy’s Day.
Posted: March 5, 2012 in UncategorizedI’m proud to be a part of “Shamrocks and Sirens” which is a group of Thriller/Mystery/Crime Authors
(I just like to use the term “Danger” writers) teaming up to get the word out about their books. Many of these
folks have become friends of mine primarily via Twitter. (yes, you doubters out there, you can develop friendships
on Twitter!) I hope you will take a look at the novels by these talented writers. Maybe you will find a little danger
at the end of the rainbow. (much better than a pot o’ gold, right? *wink*)
Last year at this time, I would have been a proud member of the the “Twitter is such a waste of time” club. I could’ve been the President. Been there, done that.
But I’ve grown older and wiser in the last 12 months. I followed the advice of others in preparation for the publication of my novel and began to spend time building a (…….don’t say, ….don’t say, it…..) platform. uggh. Gotta have folks know who you are, right? It is a pretty simple formula – No platform = itty bitty sales.

Remember that eBooks can be read on MANY types of devices – Kindle, Ipad, Ipod, PC, Laptop, and Android devices.
Just do a quick “Google” search for instructions on how to read the eBook file on your device (it is so ez even a non-tech guy like me could do it !!)
I love to hear from readers. So please give me a shout out with your feedback. Reviews are ALWAYS welcome and just a few sentences
on Amazon is fine! (and/or GoodReads!)
That question haunts me as I’m sure it does others. Would I have been brave enough to take the MORALLY CORRECT STANCE and march with Dr. King and his supporters in the 1950’s and 1960′ and demand equal rights for people of color? Could I have shouted out to the folks in my small circle that no group of citizens should be treated as second class. I’ll never know. But I can assist with change now. And right now, our country is treating a minority of its people as second class citizens.
I’m like a lot of folks in that a song can trigger a flood of feelings and memories. I bought an old one that I dearly love that came out around 1991-1992 by Jesus Jones – “Right Here, Right Now.” (here’s the video if you’d like to refresh your memory – click here to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z6dxQVhE8o ) Go ahead, I’ll wait, I know you want to hear it !!
- Big Bad Russia
I really enjoy the bad guys in a story. I notice when I’m reading, that I wonder off into thoughts about their backstory – how did they become the person they are today. Hannibal Lecter is the best example that first comes to mind for me as a bad guy with a lengthy backstory. (thanks Thomas Harris) Where did things go askew for the bad folks? Was it nature or nuture? (be sure to read Harris’ great stories that describe the “growth” of Lecter, or watch the movies!)
Snowboarding has been a hobby for about 7 years. Even in North Carolina, we get access to ski areas (approx. 4 hr drive) and so I have been a skier since my teens. Love the slopes, the snow, and the boost that being out on the mountain gives me. But WTF ! Today I’m wearing flip flops and its Feb. 3. How’s a dude ever gonna catch some air on the slopes if it is 70 degrees?
