Yeah, I know.  When I read the headline, I thought it was too good to be true.  But it is !!

Participating Krispy Kreme locations will give you 1 free glazed doughnut if you speak like a pirate OR you wear an eye-patch.  Dress in full pirate “regalia”  and get a dozen free doughnuts.

       

To claim yer loot on September 19, ye must:

• Talk like a pirate or wear an eye patch to a participating Krispy Kreme shop for one FREE Original Glazed doughnut.
• Come to a participating Krispy Kreme location in full pirate costume for one FREE dozen Original Glazed doughnuts. NO WEAPONS ALLOWED!       (love that part!)

Offer good for one free doughnut per customer who wears an eye patch or talks like a pirate to a Krispy Kreme team member at a participating shop.  One free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts per customer who wears a full pirate costume into a participating Krispy Kreme location. Redeemable on September 19, 2012 only at participating Krispy Kreme US locations.

Now, here in NC, we are big pirate fans as Blackbeard himself frequented our coastal waters and was killed just off Ocracoke Island (great place to visit, btw).  East Carolina University’s (Greenville, NC) mascot is the Pirate (Arrr)…… And……. Krispy Kreme doughnuts is based in our fair state (Winston-Salem).

Maybe Sept. 19 should just be called  “Celebrate NC Day”.  Yeah !  

That’s it.  Pirates and doughnuts.

Because (and I bet you didn’t know this)  Blackbeard was a huge fan of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
